Water velocity varies in a stream channel and typically must be measured in numerous places to measure discharge.

However, we will assume a simple rectangular channel with constant water velocities.

The water velocities are measured by a propeller-like device called a flow meter.

For a channel that is 10 ft wide and 5 ft deep, a water velocity of 1 ft/sec has been measured. What is the stream flow or discharge in cubic feet per second?
