diffraction systems main use of this instrument is X-ray powder diffraction
for phase identification and crystal structure determinations. Sample
preparation is minimal, requires little to no chemical use, and scans can be
completed in a matter of minutes.

The Philips X’Pert MPD Pro Theta/Theta powder X-ray diffraction system is equipped with computer controlled divergence, anti-scatter and receiving slit assemblies, curved graphite monochromator, 2.2 kW ceramic “flip focus” X-ray tube for line or point focus applications, sealed xenon detector , optical encoding goniometer, ultrasonic frequency solid state generator, and single sample stage. |
| The system utilizes the X’Pert Data Organizer Software Suite (including X’Pert Organizer, X’Pert Data Collector, X’Pert Graphics, X’Pert Identify, Profit, X’Pert Plus) and the JCPDS Reference Database and retrieval software. The modular configuration of the system and flexibility to add external peripherals provides the basis for very high resolution scientific applications. |
