Blackboard at Geological Sciences

The Department of Geological Sciences requires graduate students to have coursework substantially equivalent to a B.S. in Geological Sciences. If you do not have a B.S. in Geological Sciences, you must identify a research field and faculty member in our department for your potential M.S. thesis work. The thesis advisor will evaluate your coursework and identify any undergraduate course deficiencies. These courses are considered deficiencies if this coursework has not been completed prior to admission to the graduate program. The list varies according to the anticipated research field but can include math, statistics, chemistry and physics courses. It is recommended that nongeology undergraduate course deficiencies be completed at community colleges due to the impacted nature of these classes at SDSU.
