	Longitudinal Dunes - Seifs, Simpson Desert, Australia - The spectacular longitudinal dunes of the Simpson desert are caused by helicoidal wind flow of the prevailing south-southeastern winds, acting upon ancient alluvial plains.
	Parabolic Dune, White Sands National Monument - The White Sand National Monument the dunefield is 97 percent gypsum. Vegetation can invert these formations to produce parabolic shapes.
