Bonnie has an extensive career in the petroleum industry as well as other related fields after receiving her M.S. Geology and B.S. Biology from UCLA. Her work experience began with UCLA/USC teaching various assistantships followed by a summer internship at Shell Oil, for R&D Stratigraphic Services, Bellaire, TX. Bonnie than worked for Texaco USA from 1978-1989 as team leader in Bering and Beaufort Sea, Alaska, with duties including OCS Lease Sales; Santa Barbara and Santa Maria OCS Lease Sales – petroleum system/prospect evaluation, sequence stratigraphy, geochemistry, basin modeling.
Bonnie was also an Adjunct Professor at University of San Diego and San Diego State University where she taught Marine Geology, Physical Geology, Oceanography, and Historical Geology while working on PhD. This was followed by PhD research at USC (1989-1990) working on Milankovitch Cyclicity of the Monterey Fm. Bonnie then worked for Unocal International Oil and Gas, (1990-1994) SE Asia group, prospect evaluation led to new pool discoveries/successful bid of Yadana Field, a 5.7-TCF carbonate/clastic field in the Gulf of Martaban Basin, Myanmar; Pakistan (gravity, magnetics, reconnaissance of the Lower Indus Basin); Vietnam offshore (South Conson Basin). After a short stint with Unocal Canada Exploration (1994), bonnie worked at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, Geosciences Research Division (1994-1997) under Dr. Charles Keeling’s CO2 laboratory for atmospheric/seawater chemistry. Since 1997 Bonnie has been with Aera Energy LLC working on Surveillance/Development in San Ardo, Coalinga, and MWSS fields.
